EPHESIANS 4:26-27
“”Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.

The bible doesn’t tell us to never be angry; indeed Jesus vented His anger driving out people who were trading in the temple.
In His anger, He overturned tables, saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves (MATHEW 21:12).’”
But what is important, is the way in which we vent our anger; that we must handle our anger appropriately without sin.
When vented thoughtlessly, anger can cause much damage, hurting others and often destroying relationships.
When bottled up, it can cause us to become bitter-destroying our very selves from the inside.
Paul tells us to vent our anger immediately with much thought, in a way that builds rather than destroys relationships. If allowed to grow unchallenged, it can result in an explosion of rage and do irreversible damage.
Paul tells us not to let the sun go down on our wrath. If we sleep on, or hold, or allow our anger room to grow, like a nasty cancer it will multiply and destroy us from the inside.
Uncontrolled anger will give the devil opportunities to whisper more hate and bring an ever widening division between us.
Ungodly anger comes when we give way to the lust of the flesh, but the fruits of the Spirit bring peace.
When we respond to challenges in the flesh, we can expect the fruits of the flesh, such as anger, rage, exaggerations, lies and deceit, “for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.”
James 1:20 NKJV
But when we respond by the leading of the Spirit, we can expect to experience true discernment and the fruits of the Spirit.
“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”
Galatians 5:16-26 NKJV
“Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. For “He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.””

All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
