1 JOHN 4:7-11
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
”I John 4:7-11 NKJV

While all believers are sons and daughters of God, Jesus is God’s only begotten Son. He is God in human form (PHILIPPIANS 2:6); He is fully God and fully man. Only Jesus lives in this unique relationship with God and man (JOHN 1:15-19; 3:16).
Love is the explanation why God creates-because He creates people to love; Why God cares? because He loves them regardless of their sin; why we are free to choose? because He wants a heart felt loving response from us; why Christ died for us? because His love for us caused Him to provide the only possible solution to the problem of sin; and why we received eternal life-because we cannot be separated from God’s love and it never stops; He expresses His love toward us forever (ROMANS 8:38-39).
God is absolute goodness, He cannot overlook, or condone, or excuse sin as though it never happened. His love for us does not make Him morally lax. But if we trust in God, we will not have to bear the penalty of our sins (1 PETER 2:24).
Propitiation is the removal of God’s wrath, and by faith alone, believers are acquitted (ROMANS 5:18), for Christ paid our punishment, by taking our place on a cross. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends (JOHN 15:13).
And since God loves each and every one of so much that He gave His life to save us, should we not love one another? Should we not care for one another? Surely it is time to forgive one another and submit to the Lordship of Christ.
If only we could all make the choice to obey the two great commandments that Jesus told us; surely this world would soon become a better place to live. He said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.””
Matthew 22:37-40 NKJV
Should we obey these two great commandments, all the other commandments will fall into place.
My brethren, love is selfless and unconditional; it does not grudge nor seek revenge, but rather “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
I Corinthians 13:4-7 NKJV
This kind of can only come from God. Therefore, “Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us. If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.”
I John 4:17-21 NKJV
Their are no exceptions; no sin is an excuse to hold a grudge, for that is to hate. Therefore, forgive so that your Father can forgive you. ““For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Matthew 6:14-15 NKJV
My beloved, love is a weapon of mass destruction against the enemy; it is always the devil’s plan to bring division and destroy relationships. He wants to destroy the love of Christ that manifest through His people; the love that shines and attracts others to the Lordship of Christ. ”Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.“
Colossians 3:12-17 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
