PSALM 37:3-5
“Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

Trust in the Lord, by being dependent on Him in every aspect of your life, accepting His plans and purposes rather than your own, and do good, helping and encouraging others in their troubles and then you will live safely in the land.
It’s one thing to help someone when everything in your life is running smooth, but it takes faith to give when you are stretched yourself.
But what this psalm is telling us is to put your trust in God, and by His leading, do good regardless; to feed of His faithfulness by standing on His promise that He will provide all your needs however grim things might seem.
When you make the decision to reach out to help a brother or sister in need, God will send the right help you need; He will put on someone else’s heart to help you, the right person gifted to help your personal needs.
The result is, we all reach out to one another in God’s love; friendships blossom, love grows and we Christians, who are the body of Christ, begin to work together in unity like a well oiled machine.
Furthermore, it feels really good when you help someone in need; it is satisfying.
David tells us to delight ourselves in the Lord and commit everything we have to Him.
To delight in the Lord, is to experience great pleasure and joy in His presence. We can do this when we know that person really well; thus to delight in the Lord, we must get know God well by reading His word, talking and listening to Him in prayer, developing our personal relationship with Him, and gaining understanding of His unconditional love for us that will most certainly give us delight.
To commit our way to the Lord, is to commit every part of our lives to God, all that we have, and all that we do, putting all our trust in Him, whiled delighting in His presence, and then He shall give us the desires of our hearts.
We may read this verse as a promise that God will give us anything we want, but when one truly delights in the Lord, God plants godly desires into his or her heart, and through the Holy Spirit, He empowers him or her to do His will (PHILIPPIANS 2:13).
Since He is our creator, He knows us better than we know ourselves, He knows what will bring contentment, joy, and peace into our hearts. As we humbly submit to God, our lives become in alignment to God’s plan and purposes for us.
God calls us to give and help others out of love, not foolishness or pride. He who gives from his heart tells no one; he expects nothing back in return.
Giving and helping others does not purchase our place in heaven; our good deeds cannot buy our salvation. Furthermore, giving must be by the leading of the Holy Spirit and not because of any other reason.
To give from the leading of one’s flesh may undermine the work of the Spirit in others and indeed may lead him to financial ruin.
Therefore, service, giving and helping people in need must be God’s plan, not yours, and then He will provide everything you need in that situation.
Furthermore, God will not lead you into a project without considering the cost, but He won’t finance your foolishness or selfish ambitions.
We must learn to steward the provision He gives us and as we do, so will come increase. But He will not give us more than we can handle.
The truth is, our successes come down to trust and submission in our Lord and Saviour.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope (JEREMIAH 29:11).
My beloved, as I told you before, ““Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever Amen!
