JOSHUA 1:6-8
“Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Many believe that success and prosperity comes from a relentless desire to get ahead, from power, money, status, and friends of influence, and the truth is it works for many.
The strategy that God taught Joshua goes against such worldly criteria. He told Joshua he must be strong and courageous, because the task ahead wasn’t going to be easy, but that wasn’t an excuse to be ruthless, without concern for others.
Furthermore, He told Joshua, to meditate on God’s Law, that he would observe to do all according to that what is written in it.
My brethren, many businesses and jobs are under threat; many churches have closed, fuel prices have gone through the roof, financial systems are breaking, and many are finding it difficult to put food on the table and to pay their mortgages’s and rent, but that is not an excuse to cheat or become disobedient to God’s word. It is not an excuse to ruthlessly fire your staff or cut wages unnecessarily, neither is it an excuse to half heartedly do your work.
“Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God. And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”
Colossians 3:22-24 NKJV
And “Masters, give your bondservants what is just and fair, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.”
Colossians 4:1 NKJV
My beloved, I encourage you, that even in this dark world of today, God is firmly in control and we need to put our trust in Him.
While this world grows ever darker, long-term change has come to the church and the way it operates. The old system of man has gone.
No longer will God’s church be managed by one Pastor or minister, but rather it will be led by Jesus Christ who is the head of the church, who operates through the whole body as an apostolic ministry (the five fold ministry of Christ); “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”
Ephesians 4:11-16 NKJV
Life in today’s dark world can be very challenging, but “if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Matthew 6:30-34 NKJV
My beloved, we are in a battle; but the place to fight is on our knees, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
Ephesians 6:12-20 NKJV
It is encouraging to know that God is firmly in control and He is faithful to provide all our needs regardless of what is happening around us. The truth is, the victory already belongs to His people through Christ who is our strength (1 CORINTHIANS 15:57).
, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:31-39 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
