Anxiety in the heart Causes Depression, and yes, a good word makes it glad, but what is the source of the anxiety?

Anxiety is another word for fear, and like hot is the opposite of cold, fear is the opposite of faith.
Anxiety is the very food of depression that steals our peace, our joy, and even damages our immune system. It hinders our decisions and binds people to a life of misery, and often leads many onto a path of suicide.
Not surprising then, it is written in God’s word some 365 times, do not fear!
A doctor who diagnosed depression, will recognise that depression comes from anxiety/fear; he will explain to his patient that there’s no actual cure for depression, but with pills, council, or both, the depression can be controlled.
But if the depression in you needs controlling, then it is living within you.
My brethren, do not bow to anxiety/ depression; “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, don’t allow the devil to continue to feed the depression that lives in you. Don’t listen to his lies deigned to activate your emotions.
Take those negative thoughts and emotions captive, and bring them to the obedience of Christ (2 CORINTHIANS 10:5).
Put your trust in Jesus, He has authority over all things in heaven and on earth (MATHEW 28:18), including your impossible situations-all sickness including your mental health, all viruses, infections, cancers, diabetes, and every disability; furthermore, not only does He have authority over your health, your wealth, but even over death, because Jesus not only died for your sin, but on the third day He was risen (1 CORINTHIANS 15:3-8).
“He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Only through Jesus can one receive the gift of life (JOHN 14:6); “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
God is not a liar, you who believe have no reason to fear.
My brethren put your trust in Him; He is our creator God, our sustainer God, our leader, our teacher, and our guide, our provider, our protector, our healer, and our redeemer, the very corner stone on who we stand.
Where is your faith?
Today, drive out the spirit of fear and every other unclean spirit and demon that binds you and torments you with nightmares, sleep disorders, addictions, and to all kinds of repetitive sins and anguish like anger and confusion. As a Spirit filled Christian, you don’t have to put up with the evil attacks of the devil and his army of demons.
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
One must fully wholeheartedly submit to the Lord, His plans, purposes, and His ways, and then when the devil and his army of demons are rebuked (called out), they will flee from you.
These devils are very real, but the Good News is, every Spirit filled believer has authority over them (LUKE 10:17).
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬-‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, even Paul faced these same demons throughout his life.
But as he came to know the truth and understand the source of his sinful behaviours and negative thoughts, he was able to get free from them.
He said “I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7‬:‭15‬-‭25‬ ‭NLT‬‬
One will never be free whilst living a lie.
Many Christians claim that they cannot possibly have demons. “What me”, they say.
Their pride and excuses will hold them in a life of torment.
Jesus told us to pray in Lord’s Prayer, “deliver us from the evil one.” Who is the evil one? The devil and his demons. Who is us? God’s Spirit filled believers.
We cannot free unbelievers, for they choose the devil’s kingdom, it those of God’s kingdom who get set free.
My beloved, it is the truth that sets one free. Not just knowing the truth, but walking in it.
Jesus is the the truth, He is who He says He is.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“He said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8‬:‭31‬-‭36‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Just like in Jesus day, many believers refuse to except that they are bound by the enemy because they refuse the truth.
They are full of excuses, saying, “Christians can’t have demons; I am far too strong to let demons; and even, “in Jesus day they didn’t understand mental health issues.” They have many excuses, usually fuelled by pride, and those lies will hold them in bondage forever.
I say it again, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Paul gave us much good advice having run the race before us, facing most of the trials and challenges believers face today.
Therefore, as Paul told us, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:4-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My brothers and sisters, as I have told you time and time again, ““Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:7-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
If you are struggling with repetitive sin, addiction, sleep disorders, nightmares, mental health issues, or suicidal thoughts, and such as these, it’s likely that you are demonised and in need of deliverance.
Therefore, seek the help of a church operating in the five fold ministry of Christ and get set free.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
