MATHEW 18:18-20
“”Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
”Matthew 18:18-20 NKJV

Their are often conflicts between Christians within the church. This binding can be used to settle disagreements between believers rather than taking disputes to court.
Believers therefore have a responsibility to bring their problems to the church where decisions will be based on the word with Spirit led discernment to seek a God led resolve.
What you bind here on earth, will also be bound in heaven in full agreement with God. No dispute should go outside of the church.
But to understand this Scripture, one must understand that the source of our troubles, tribulations, and sickness’s are sourced in the spiritual realms (EPHESIANS 6:12).
The devil and his army of demons do not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy (JOHN 10:10), and they are a powerful army that gain legal authority in our lives through not just our own sin, but also through the sin of our ancestors.
Therefore, to remove them, we must legally satisfy the spiritual issues to get them out and bring change into the physical.
Deliverance brings change to our physical lives by breaking down the strongholds of the devil, his curses, that bring poverty, broken marriages and relationships, and all kinds of human failures.
Furthermore, it removes the source of sickness, anxiety, depression, addictions, lusts, anger, rage, confusion, and the likes of such torments.
We can all thank God for Jesus Christ, for He came to give us life, that we might have more abundantly (JOHN 10:10).
My beloved, salvation cannot be bought with money, works, or even religious sacrifices, for that covenant of Old Testament times has been depleted.
But because of what Jesus has done on a cross, He not only justifies, but affords us new life in Christ by faith alone.
To believe any kind of works, religious or not is required is suggesting that the blood of Christ isn’t enough, which is not faith.
My beloved, Jesus paid it all.
Therefore, let go of religion and build a relationship with Christ.
We must come to understand that we are saved by a new covenant that is based on faith alone.
It is an forever agreement with God, and His Holy Spirit is the down payment and guarantee of our eternal future, “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”
Ephesians 1:13-14 NKJV
When one receives the gift of the Holy Spirit, He is no longer under the Law (ROMANS 8:1-11), for he is born again into God’s kingdom by faith, and the Old Testament religious acts and sacrifices are not a part of the the new Covenant.
To believe one must remain obedient to these religious laws is sin and gives authority to the devil to enter in.
I will mention also, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.”
Mark 2:27 NKJV
These were words Jesus spoke in answer to His accusers when doing good works on the day they called the Sabbath.
The Sabbath is not a religious command, but rather, a gift of God to give believers rest in Him one day a week. Rest from the physical chores of life and give time to spend with God without hindrance.
But today because of what Christ had done on a cross we Spirit filled believers can enter into His presence at any time, night or day.
My beloved, the old is gone and the new is here.
Jesus said, “This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many. Assuredly, I say to you, I will no longer drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.””
Mark 14:24-25 NKJV
My beloved, we must as Spirit filled believers walk in the Spirit, believing on what Christ has done, for nothing good comes from our flesh (GALATIANS 5:16-26) or any of the Old Testament religious acts and sacrifices.
Our battles are not in the flesh, but with the flesh, “For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.”
Galatians 5:17-18 NKJV
It is our sinful flesh, not willing to give up its lust that gives way to the devil and his evil schemes.
It is through the sinful lust that the demonic enter in and hold people captive, taking possession and influence one’s mind, will, and emotions, in their behaviours and responses, and even beliefs.
But we Spirit filled believers are blessed, for God has given us authority over the demonic (LUKE 10:17), to cast them out.
James said, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
James 4:7-10 NKJV
That is to say, submit to God in one’s entirety, repent of all sin, particularly the sin that let them in, and verbally rebuke these devil’s, calling them out, and they shall flee.
These demons are like squatters, and are never happy to leave, and won’t go until called out by name, and repentance is in place.
Commanding unclean spirits and situations bound here on earth, binds them in heaven, the source of our troubles, and therefore gives us relief from the situation and the demons, it shuts them down and we get some peace.
To loose on earth, loosens in heaven, the source of the issue, thus, loosens their grip on one’s life and situations, and helps to get them free.
Furthermore, Jesus made us a promise, that when two Spirit filled believers agree on anything, it will be done by the Father in heaven, for Christ is in the midst of them.
Therefore, deliverance and healing is made a whole lot easier within gathering.
Jesus, when walking on this earth, was looking forward to the days when He would be present with His followers, not in body, but by the Holy Spirit (JOHN 14:15-18).
The sincere agreement of prayer by two Spirit led people is by far more powerful than the superficial agreement of thousands because through the Holy Spirit is with them, guiding them to pray for the right prayer with the right purpose, using the right word for the situation situation, for the right outcome, and therefore in full agreement with God which is then legally bound by God.
It is then by the Stripe of Jesus, one is healed (ISAIAH 53:1-5).
So many times we go to God in prayer because a project or situation is not going the way we planned.
We call out to God when we are in trouble, and he is faithful to respond.
But the truth is, prevention is better than cure.
Start your day in prayer, ask God to guide you in all things. Then many of the issues would of never arisen in the first place.
Therefore, take Paul’s good advice:
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7).
All glory To God for ever and ever Amen.
