GALATIANS 5:1
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

We are all sinners (1 JOHN 1:10), and have been shackled by the power of sin and death. But Christ died on a cross to set us free from sin and a long list of laws and regulations.
He came to free us, not that we can continue in sin or do what we like, because that would only lead us back into our old selfish desires and would tie us up in bondage once again.
Thanks to God, and what Christ has done, freedom from sin and death is available to everyone-free and able to do what was impossible before; to live unselfishly by the leading and power of the Holy Spirit who will never leave us (JOHN 14:15-18).
Jesus said, “”if you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
John 14:15-18 NKJV
God sends His Holy Spirit to help us through our every day life; to give us discernment and to make righteous decisions. He will lead us in every aspect of our life and calling.
But God does not take away our free will, and those who appeal to their freedom so that they can have their own way or indulge in their own selfish desires will slip back into sin and bondage (see GALATIANS 5:16-26).
It is also wrong to place the burden of law-keeping on believers. We must stand against those who enslave us with religious rules, methods and special conditions for being saved.
Paul put it like this: “Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love (GALATIANS 5:2-6).
One cannot earn salvation, no amount of money can buy it, and no good deeds or religious acts can purchase it. “For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above ) or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.””
Romans 10:5-13 NKJV
It’s too late to be free by works-we have already broken God’s Laws and our eternal death has been justified by the Law.
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.”
I John 1:8-10 NKJV
My brethren, the sacrifice of animals that paid the debt of sin in Old Testament times, no longer pays our debt of sin because Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice; He is the Lamb that was slain and animal sacrifice is no longer an option.
He paid the debt of sin once and for all time with His own blood. Therefore, my beloved, only through Jesus Christ can anyone be free from the curse of sin that brings forth death (JAMES 1:15)
“Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:6 NKJV
Jesus is the only One who can free you from the curse of sin because He is the One who paid your debt on a cross; furthermore, He is the coming Judge that will decide your eternal future, and since salvation is impossible by works, faith in Christ is the only way.
He is the truth, in fact, the incorruptible Word of God. For, ”In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.“
John 1:1-5 NKJV
He is God and cannot deviate from His word; it is impossible for Him to lie and He cannot ever break His promises, for it is written.
He is the life that defeated sin and death forever, because not only did He die on a cross to pay the debt of sin, He is risen, and therefore through Him, you by faith die and rise with Him into resurrection life. ”For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.“
Romans 6:5-11 NKJV
I tell you the truth, who the Son sets free, is free indeed (JOHN 8:36). But however, do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
