We humans like to receive recognition for what we have done, and that can be an encouragement for us. But all too often position and status becomes far to important to us, as can money, and many have pierced themselves with many sorrows because of their love for money
(1 TIMOTHY 6:10).
But Peter reminds us that God’s recognition is what really counts. He is able and willing to bless us in His perfect timing in both this life and the next.
He does not guarantee riches in this life, but He does promise to meet our needs.
Carrying worries, stress, and daily struggles alone, shows that one really doesn’t trust God or know Him like he ought. But Peter tells us to cast all our cares on Him.
If you are to cast your cares on God, you need to make time to know Him, to build relationship with Him, and ultimately build up faith.
There’s no way we can fully trust anyone without knowing them well.
We must spend quality time with God alone in prayer, and involve Him in every part of our daily lives if we are really going to know Him well enough to call ourselves believers and be dependent on Him.
It is only through relationship with Him that you will come to realise that He loves you, and He is not just able, but is working non-stop that you may have life, and that you may have it more abundantly
(JOHN 10:10).
The truth is, we cannot do anything good and lasting in our own strength, we are all sinners in need of a Saviour. It is in our weakness that God is strong (2 CORINTHIANS 12:9-10).
Pride will always separate us from God (PROVERBS 16:5-7), for He alone deserves the glory and the praise.
Jesus said, ““Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Matthew 6:25-34 NKJV
I encourage you, whatever your struggles, even if it was your own sin or foolishness that brought them upon yourself, cast your cares upon Him who cares for you. He is merciful and faithful to help all His repentant children.
My beloved, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all, not some, but all your needs shall be added to you.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
