JEREMIAH 17:5-8
“Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

Their are two kinds of people contrasted here, those who trust in humans and those who trust in God.
The people of Judah were trusting in false gods and military alliances instead of God Almighty, and thus they were barren and unfruitful.
In contrast , those who trust in the Lord flourish like trees planted along a riverbank, they have an unlimited source of water even in times of drought, and as a result, they were continually fruitful.
As Christians, by putting our in God, we have an unlimited source of strength that comes from the living waters of Christ (JOHN 7:37-39),and the truth is, nothing can stop God's work; every impossible situation we face is possible with God (MATHEW 19:26); “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.“
Romans 8:28-30 NKJV
In times of trouble, those who trust in people will be impoverished and spiritually weak, so they will have no strength to draw on. But those who trust in the Lord will have abundant strength, not only for their own needs, but even for the needs of others.
Are you satisfied with being unfruitful, or do you, like a well-watered tree with roots that go down beneath the water bed where there are ample supplies even after long spells of drought that give strength for times of crisis; and even some to share with those in need as you bare fruits for the Lord?
My brethren, in who do you put your trust?
When provision runs low, do you ask people who may or may or may not not have the resources to help, or do you put your trust in lucky charms that cannot do anything, or false gods that will deceive you, or the dead that have no abilities on this physical earth whatsoever, or do you ask Jesus Christ our Saviour?
Mary did just that when the wine was depleted, and Christ conducted His first miracle and turned water into wine (JOHN 2:1-11).
Mary could do nothing herself in her situation, nor can she do anything in your situation today, therefore, just like Mary, ask Jesus. Whilst she couldn’t resolve her own situation herself in her day, she cannot resolve yours, but she is a good example to follow.
This was His first miracle, but He said, “It’s not My time”, but gave the help needed to stop the humiliation of running out of wine.
But now is Jesus time, for the wine (power) is depleted and the old man’s church is dead.
The new is here, for the new wine is being poured out into Christ church, the five fold ministry of Christ, made up of Apostles, Prophets, Teachers, Pastors, and evangelist, and with the new wine, comes new powers, and new freedom (EPHESIANS 4:11) for the Kingdom is here.
My beloved, He not only wants to help you, He has unlimited resources to do so (EPHESIANS 3:16-19).
Jesus said, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.“
John 14:12-14 NKJV
He is the way, the truth, and the life, the only way to our Father in heaven (JOHN 14:6).
When you do it your way, God will stand back and leave you to your own devises; but when you put your trust in Jesus, He will make a way for you; maybe not necessarily the way you hoped or expected. His focus is always eternal, the long-term solution in every aspect of life.
Put your trust in Jesus for He is faithful to send the help you need in every situation.
Truly I tell you, believe, and He will make a way for you. The truth is, He already has.
“He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.“
Isaiah 53:3-12 NKJV
Again I tell you, He covered it all. “”Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
