1 PETER 4:7-9
“But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.

It’s not difficult to see this world cannot continue much longer; it is falling into a pit of darkness; corruption and lawlessness is growing, as is sexual immorality, addiction, abortion, and all kinds of evil acts such as child trafficking and abuse. Our world economies are collapsing, unemployment is rising and poverty is growing world wide.
My brethren, we need to be ready for Christ’ return; living our lives expectantly because He is coming soon.
Therefore, we need to be serious and watchful in our prayers; being careful of what we pray for and how we conduct ourselves in our daily lives.
Getting ready to meet Jesus involves continually working on your personal relationship with Him and growing in love for God and others (see MATHEW 22:37-40).
In deed having fervent (passionate; intense; sincere) love, for one another, for love truly covers a multitude of sins.
It is important to pray regularly, reach out to the needy and to forgive all who wronged us, that our Father in heaven can forgive us (MATHEW 6:14-15).
It is not always easy to forgive, but we are all sinners in need of a Saviour. How can you even ask for forgiveness when you are refusing to forgive others?
When you choose to love others fervently, that love will cover a multitude of sins; therefore, you will be able to make an instant decision to forgive and then ask God to empower your emotions to catch up with your decision so that your Father in heaven can forgive you (MARK 11:35-26).
Your possessions, status, and abilities may bring some joy and security, but they all temporary, nothing of this world is lasting, you can lose your money, job, or status in a single moment; besides, you will have no use for anything of this world in God’s kingdom.
The truth is, as a believer, you expect to spend eternity with others, so maybe it is time to invest your time and talents where they will make an eternal difference by getting to know Christ more, putting your trust in Him, and reaching out to others in acts of selfless love.
It always feels good when we have been able help someone in need, and the security of Christ brings continuous and growing peace, joy, and contentment as we live each day in the love of Jesus Christ our Saviour.
My brethren, don’t be complacent, but rather, be ready for the end of all things is at hand.
Furthermore my beloved, “Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
I Peter 4:9-11 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
